Princeton, KY · Proving It Works First

The Integrated Meat Platform Powering a New Meat Economy

Our business is co-packing. But the infrastructure we've built in Princeton, KY is proving something much larger is possible — a fully integrated regional meat economy where animals are raised, harvested, processed, packed, and consumed within the same communities. Every dollar stays local. Every tax stays local. Every health outcome stays local.

And the economic winner isn't predetermined. Through our farmer buyback program — powered by porterroad.com — farmers participate directly in the upside of specialty cuts they couldn't otherwise monetize.

Infrastructure
USDA-backed processing, packaging, cold storage, and fulfillment — the backbone every independent farmer deserves access to.
Nourishment
Clean, traceable protein connecting communities to the farms and farmers who raised it — from pasture to customers' dinner table.
Resilience
Self-reliant regional economies built through direct farmer-to-processor relationships that keep dollars circulating locally.

Our Mission

Helping Farmers
Scale Their Legacy

Joey Rittenberry raises beef and pork the way it's supposed to be done — pasture-based, no confinement, no hormones, no antibiotics. His family has farmed in Burna, Kentucky for generations. For over a decade, his animals were Porter Road's primary supply. Now he's also our processing customer — we helped him launch the Rittenberry Farms brand and scale his legacy.

Through BFB's co-packing infrastructure, Joey has his own brand. His meat is raised in Livingston County, processed at our USDA facility in Caldwell County, and sold directly back to his own community — including at Livingston Hospital as part of the Food Is Medicine initiative.

"It's to promote better nutrition for our people in the Commonwealth. Fortunately, we have Rittenberry Farms. We thought it was a great partnership."

Shane Whittington · CEO, Livingston Hospital
